CELIA is proud to be brewed by the Žatecky brewery located in the historic Czech town Žatec. Brewing in the Žatec town dates back as far as 1004 but by the end of the 18th century, the original Žatec breweries were not able to cover the full market demand for beer so a new brewery was built in 1797.
CELIA is traditionally batch brewed for over 2 months which includes a 14 day open vat fermentation process ensuring only natural carbonation. CELIA is crafted to remove gluten through a de-glutenisation process which enables the brewery to use only quality local ingredients ensuring no substitutions are required. NOTE: At less than 5 mg/L, CELIA is only regarded as "Low Gluten" by New Zealand food standards.
This Dark Lager is densely black with an almost ruby red hue and a distinctive coffee like aroma with slightly nutty and rye bread undertones. It is thick and chewy on the palate with a big toasted malt character finish. 4.5% abv.
Best before 29/11/20, hence the cracking price. This dark lager will continue to drink extremely well for some months yet. Be quick, limited stocks!
