Brass Knocker Central Otago Pinot Noir 2021

Around 1870 James McArthur arrived in the Waikerikeri Valley in Strathclyde, Central Otago, on the outskirts of Alexandra. At that time and in fact until the 1990s the land bordering the farm was like a desert, it was then that a source of water was acquired.

Brass Knocker is produced by McArthur Ridge Wines in Central Otago, and offers tremendous value for Pinot Noir lovers. The current vineyard was established in 2001, with a vision that combines crafted winemaking with viticulture on a significant scale. The vineyards clear goal was to bring central otago to red wine lovers around the world through distinctive wines, which are exciting yet affordable.

This wine is bright, fresh and youthful with a fresh red cherry and sweet raspberry aromas. Matured in middle aged and old oak barrels, the wine has wonderful mineral layers, with rich, spicy complexity. Dry on the palate with fine soft tannins and balanced acidity, the sweet berry fruit flavours mirror the nose with lovely integrated toasty oak characters, and a delicate, silky finish. 13.5% abv.
