Bendigo Hills Central Otago Pinot Gris 2022

The Bendigo Hills are north facing semi-arid slopes growing some of the finest Pinot Noir & Pinot Gris in Central Otago. These vineyards are located just North East of Cromwell, mid way between Queenstown & Wanaka.

Bendigo's organic vineyards are perched 400m above sea level, where they are literally growing grapes on a mountain edge, in an extremely challenging continental climate. But making great wine is never easy and we wouldn’t want it any other way.

This pinot gris is made with minimal intervention. Hand harvested, whole bunch pressed, and only the free run juice is used - to achieve finesse and provide longevity to the wine. We use a mixture of cultured yeast and wild yeast to impart nuances of flavours and the wine was matured on lees for 12 months to build texture and enhance the mouth feel.

Tasting notes: Generous aromas of Central Otago apricots, gentle hay & roasted nuts; the wine has intensely concentrated tropical fruit flavours, a refined silky smooth palate, with lovely linear acidity, and complemented by a savoury spiciness. 13.5% ABV.
