The southern hairy-nose wombat is smaller than other wombats but is stocky, robust and the proud state emblem of South Australia. Like the might of the little wombat, this Little Giant Limited Release 2019 Shiraz magnum is crafted from small parcels of the very best Shiraz grapes from the famed Barossa Valley of South Australia. The old vine shiraz grapes deliver character and intensity well above their size and weight. Hand-crafted and made with minimal additions and preservatives, this wine is made of the vineyard.

The fruit was sourced from select premium vineyards in the Ebeneezer district in the north of the Barossa Valley. Picked in the cool of the morning to retain freshness, the fruit was de-stemmed and fermented in open top fermenters for 15 days. The wine then spent 18 months in used large format French and American oak barrels (hogsheads) to build structure whilst softening the palate, developing flavour & complexity without overt extraction of oak characters.

Balance and complexity are the hallmarks of this exceptional Barossa Valley Shiraz. The nose is alive with a rich compote of fruits complemented by hints of dark chocolate, and toasty oak. The palate is awash with rich fruit concentration that lingers with enticing spice and nuances of mocha. It finishes long with beautifully appointed tannins and cleansing acidity. Perfect to cellar for up to a decade. Decant before drinking and serve with a chargrilled sirloin. 14.5% ABV.
